MO-BIZZ (European Program CIP-ICT-PSP)

MO-BIZZ Tessera was involved in the project MO-BIZZ under the European Program CIP-ICT-PSP. This project was implemented over the period 2013 - 2015 and aimed to design a unified technological platform that will allow companies to develop and make available to their customers services that utilize cloud-based mobile services.

The coordinator of the project was Portugal Telecom and the participants were several technology companies and research institutions from Spain, France, Germany, Romania, Slovenia, Greece and Portugal. Tessera was not the only partner from Greece, since another Greek company, ALTEC, also participated in the project.

KP-Lab (European Programme IS)

KP-LAB (Ευρωπαϊκό Πρόγραμμα IS)

Our company participated in the KP-LAB project within the European Programme IS during the period 2006 – 2011 in collaboration with 20 other European research and technological organizations.

KP-Lab focused on creating a learning system aimed at facilitating innovative practices of sharing, creating and working with knowledge in education and workplaces.

KP-Lab involved design experiments and longitudinal studies in educational institutions and professional organizations. The technology built on emerging technologies, such as semantic web, real-time multimedia communication, ubiquitous access using wireless devices, and interorganisational computing. The technologies were mostly based on open source technology.

ComLab 2 (European Programme Leonardo da Vinci)

ComLab 2 (Ευρωπαϊκό Πρόγραμμα Leonardo da Vinci)Our company participated in the ComLab2 project within the European Programme Leonardo da Vinci and co-partners educational institutes from 9 different European countries. ComLab 2 was implemented during the period 2005-2007 and had as main objective the integration of different ICT tools in science and technology teaching. Two aspects were emphasised:

a) "Real laboratory" exercises, based on a computer data acquisition and control system, recognising that importance of practical experimentation and laboratory work has not decreased in the era of ICT.

b) "Virtual laboratory" activities, based on computer simulations of various science phenomena and complicated, expensive and/or inaccessible devices.

Both aspects were integrated through example courses based on interactive html documents. Tessera worked on the design of the simulations and on transferring the material developed in web technologies. More information about the project at  http://e-prolab.com.

DUNES (European Programme IST)

Dunes (Ευρωπαϊκό Πρόγραμμα IST)

Tessera participated in the implementation of the IST project DUNES (Dialogic and argUmentative Negotiation Educational Sotware), in collaboration with technological companies and research institutes from several European countries. The project was implemented during the period 2002 to 2005.

DUNES primarily aimed at empowering teachers/instructors with tools to construct meaningful knowledge in their classes or training sites by fostering informal reasoning and dialogic thinking. For this purpose, advanced IST tools were developed to enable an effective acquisition of knowledge through argumentation and interaction. Using a friendly software, the user (pupil, student, trainee) learns by accessing information on any topic, engaging in a productive authoring process and discussing - mainly through Internet.

Tessera worked on the design of the graphical user interfaces of educational software and the development of the web portal project. More information about the project at www.dunes.gr.
